Flying Solo

Self portraits can be fun since you have no photographer that makes you feel uncomfortable or embarassed when you try out some expressions. Also, with the digitalia we’ve got access to these days its brilliantly simple. In fact id reccomend anyone whos camera-phobic to find themselves a (digital!) camera, a tripod (a tallish stool or stack of boxes) and just shoot themselves in the head! (yes, i never tire of the pun on “shoot”..)

The B&W

Narcissism be damned.

Yesterday, i had to take a picture of myself for a calendar project that my friends came up with. It called for a portrait and it turned out to be a self portrait since i was the one that did it. the only problem is i have these horrendous chronological and physical constraints so i simply have to work with this picture. the background is too cluttered and distracting in the original so i have to PS my way out of this problem.

I dont like the blur
I dont like the b&w bg with colours subject
and the image without the pink looks like prawn curry without prawns….just needs that pink

Well anyway, its still work in progress

The black&white is most interesting. Was quite fooled at first. You’re right about the background clutter but love the concept!

The black and white pic is the most interesting. The background clutter though makes the portrait stand out, achieving the objective!
